Jason Hobbs holds a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, graduating from both in 1999. Prior to joining Wellston Behavioral Medicine, he served a small United Methodist congregation, worked in homeless services and in hospice care.
His long-term interests are the intersection of faith and health, especially mental health. He has taught classes on Mindfulness meditation and led workshops on spirituality and health for clients and clinicians alike.
A runner and triathlete, Jason is also a strong believer in the benefits of exercise to both physical and mental health.
At Wellston Behavioral Medicine, Jason works with children, adolescents, and adults individuals and couples, using cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and mindfulness-based methods. He treats anxiety, depression, as well as other disorders.
