Richard Ellis received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ball State University, MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and was trained in general psychiatry at the Portsmouth (VA) Naval Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He has been board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 1990. Dr. Ellis served in a variety of clinical psychiatric positions in the Naval Medical Centers during his 25 years in the U.S. Navy. He served as the head of all mental health and addiction rehabilitation services at the Navy’s busiest medical center to finish his active duty career. He moved to Warner Robins, Georgia in 2002 where he and Dr. Sallyanne Pyle founded Wellston Behavioral Medicine.
